Compared to other versions of the Arduino using a separate USB-Serial converter chip, the Leonardo innovatively uses a single-chip solution. Only with an Atmega32u4 USB communication and control. The Leonardo differs from all preceding boards in that the ATmega32u4 has built-in USB communication, eliminating the need for a secondary processor.
