Two precision 24-bit analog-to-digital converters are the ADS1232 and ADS1234 (ADCs). The ADS1232/4 provide a full front-end solution for bridge sensor applications such as weigh scales, strain gauges, and pressure sensors thanks to an inbuilt oscillator, low-noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA), and precision delta-sigma ADC.

Either two (ADS1232) or four (ADS1234) differential inputs can be used with the input multiplexer. A temperature sensor is also built into the ADS1232 to track outside temperature. The built-in, low-noise PGA supports full-scale differential inputs of 2.5V, 1.25V, 39mV, or 19.5mV and has a selectable gain of 1, 2, 64, or 128. The delta-sigma ADC is made up of a 3rd-order modulator and a 4th-order digital filter, and its effective resolution is 23.5 bits.
